Peacock Springs CSO Committee Meeting
14 December 2002

We held our meeting Saturday the 14th at Orange Grove. We had a large turnout of committee members. We voted to elect Jim Fishback, Larry Green, Lamar Hires, Shelley Orlowski and Mike Poucher to join Bill Rennaker and John Orlowski on our Safety and Line Committee. They will start serving the state park as soon as they have met with Ranger Rick Hughes of ISSP, their advisor. We want to congratulate & welcome them all.

We still have some medium and ex-large T-shirts left and one 2X. We are still looking for a drawing of an alligator in cave gear that we can reproduce and place on polo shirts to sell in the future: a gator laying down with tanks on its back, nothing elaborate, easy to reproduce. If you have a drawing for us please contact Jim Womble at nprntng@aol.com.
We are waiting for the final approval for our Adopt A Cave fund-raiser from the state. We will fill you in as soon as the information is available to us. We have $900 donated to this project so far. 900' of the tunnel of Orange Grove has been adopted in the Memory of Chester Sciechowizc with more to come. Any ideas for the adopt a cave project please contact Shelley Orlowski at orlowski@aquaspeleo.com.
We held a very successful radio locate for the interpretative trail on Sunday. Dive teams of Jim Womble & Kelly Jessop, Bill Stape, Scott Elliot & Jerry Murphy, Jim Fishback & John Jones, Alex Cole & Andrea Mosses handled the placement of the radio beacon in the cave system at different predetermined locations. The land crew were Mike & Sandra Poucher; they were assisted by Laurie Jessop, Janet Stape & her dog, Brie.
The radio receivers picked up the radio signals sent from inside the cave and we marked the areas on the surface. Thank you to all the people who have been involved with this project, your help is greatly appreciated. We are enclosing pictures taken Sunday.
If you would like to volunteer time in the future please contact Mike Poucher mpoucher@atlantic.com.
Once again TJ has donated the wood for the dressing area we are in the process of constructing at Orange Grove. Tom delivered the wood for the sides Dec. 7th. Bill Rennaker and his construction crew will start work this Saturday the 21st. We want to thank TJ for his generosity and thank Bill and his work crew for their time and efforts donated to the park.
Volunteer hours: Kelly would like to remind everyone to turn their hours in at the end of the month for the last three months. We turn group hours in for meetings. We ask you turn in any hours for time you have helped the park as a state park volunteer.

Litter pick ups, travel time to the park and back home, critter counts, construction projects, radio locating, if you are emailing committee members or anyone else and discussing the CSO Committee it is to be considered volunteer time.

A reminder of our raffle drawing to be held at Orange Grove on January 1, 2003. Winner need not be present to win. Please email Rick Crawford at odin@suwanneevalley.net.
