On Saturday February 10th, at noon, at Orange Grove pavilion, the next CSO meeting will be held.
At the January meeting we started the necessary steps to becoming a CSO instead of being a committee under ISSP's CSO. As it stands now we will have other state parks under the PSSP CSO. When the day comes when most diving parks will be under one manager this will benefit most divers. All money that has been raised for PSSP will stay at PSSP; we will hold future fund raising events for other parks.
An after-hours dive sponsored by the CDS to be held on Friday May 25th at PSSP at 8 PM has been approved by District. The CDS will have more information forthcoming. This dive is being sponsored by the CDS in conjunction with their Memorial Day weekend workshop.
We are applying for a midnight dive for Monday Dec. 31st from 11 PM to 1 AM, as it has been requested by a lot of divers who love to start their New Year inside the cave's.

We would like to thank Jill Heinrith for all the time she has devoted to PSSP taking pictures for some of the kiosks for our trail. We hope to have most of the kiosks erected along the trail by the end of 2007.
An Old Tymer's Day is being scheduled for the fall at the park and will be held in conjunction with a chili cook-off. Jim Womble has offered to cook chili for us as a fund raiser. If you would like to challenge Jim's chili with your own recipe, please contact any CSO member.
We are also planning a day of alligator education for the fall with the Gator Man. He is actually an gator wrestler; however, we will not have him wrestling gators, just educating us on the reptile and possibly having him bring some baby gators to hold.
Assistant Manager Angel Gonzalez informed us the recent purchase of 481 acres will be opened as a recreation area. Plans for diving Baptizing Springs will be announced in the future. We would like to thank everyone who was involved in the state purchasing the additional acreage. It started years go when Ranger West informed management the land was up for sale. It took a whole village for the purchase to be made.
