Peacock Springs CSO Committee Meeting |
---
We held our February and March meetings. We are about 3/4 finished with the dressing area at Orange Grove; we hope to be completed by the next meeting date, which is April 12 at Orange Grove. If the park is closed we'll meet at the Luraville Country Store at Noon.
We are ordering more t-shirts. They will be in white, gray and ivory, except for medium size white only.
Our line and safety committee is up and running. They are in the process of electing a chairperson.
We will have signs posted in the park when it reopens with the committee members´ names & contact information. Please contact one of these volunteers if you see something that needs attention inside the cave system. You can give the information to a park employee or write it down and leave in the iron ranger so Richard can report to them. As trained if you come upon a broken line you are to make an emergency repair and then report it.
We will have a booth set up at the NSS-CDS workshop Memorial Day weekend in Gainesville. We hope to see you there.
Our radio locating is almost finished. We hoped to get with park management to walk the proposed trail but Mother Nature has delayed that for now.
In a conversation with Ranger Richard West today the water is still rising, the fence at Peacock is totally underwater. We have posted some pictures on Cave Divers Forum of the flood. The dates are March 15 & the 21st if you would like to see them.
If you have any state park volunteer hours to report please email them to billjan@alltel.net so we can include them in our total or call the park at 386-776-2194 and leave a message.
And in closing we would like to express our deepest condolences to Laurie and Kelly Jessop on the passing of Laurie's Mother recently. Our thoughts and prayers are with your whole family.
Thank you, Janet, Kelly, Jan & Jim PSSP CSO Committee Officers
