Peacock Springs CSO Comm. Meeting
14 September 2002

We held our monthly meeting on Sat., Sept. 14. First we want to wish Bob Eichenberger, park employee & committee member, a speedy recovery. Bob recently spent a few days in the hospital but is well on his way to recovery.

We recently realized that there was no official contact person(s) that we could go to with any references to the lines or line arrows in the PSSP cave system. For the safety of all the cave divers using the PSSP cave system, we unanimously voted Bill Rennaker and John Orlowski to be the official contact persons for the PSSP cave system. They were selected because of their thorough knowledge of the cave system and the close proximity to which they reside to the park.

If you see any line that that needs repaired, replaced or has been improperly moved please report this to any park employee 776-2194, Mr. Rennaker 776-2299, or Mr.Orlowski 776-1191.
Jim Womble reported we are still accepting designs that will be placed on the t-shirts we are going to sell. You can contact him at nprntng@aol.com
Rick Crawford reported Dive Rite has donated a $500 gift certificate to us for our New Year's Day raffle. We set the price for tickets at $5 each or 5 for $20. We will have more information in the near future for both of these fund raisers.

Our next litter pickup is Sat. Oct. 12 at 8 AM and our meeting is the same day at noon at the Luraville Country Store.ven a permit to start the locating of certain cave areas above ground for our interpretive trail. We hope to get with park management soon to finalize plans for this project.

Renewal notices for committee membership have been mailed out, if you have not received one and joined before Oct. 2000 please contact us billjan@alltel.net .

Committee members landscaped the park entrance sign and the iron ranger area inside the gate. The cost to the committee was $24. with the remaining being donated by committee members.

We voted to add Cavex2 Productions to our sponsor sign and to our website sponsors, Harvey Boyd donated 5 videos of the PSSP cave system to the committee to in turn donate them to the ISSP CSO who will show the videos in their new visitors center. We viewed some of the videos and they are excellent, and are available for purchase at www.cavex2productions.com.  We thank him for his donation.

We also have another sponsor Fun2Dive Scuba from Sanford, FL. Owner Joseph Detrick donated $100 to the committee. His website is www.fun2dive.com.  We welcome Fun2 Dive Scuba to our committee.
We decided to separate the secretary-treasurer office into two separate offices and Jan Eichenberger will remain as treasurer and Jim Womble offered to be our secretary. We welcome Jim and thank him for joining us.
We approved the spending of money to purchase a paper shredder and plastic laminator to donate to the park office.

These items will be very useful for park ranger Richard West. Just a reminder there is a cleanup scheduled for Telford Springs on Nov. 10 at 9 AM.

Our next litter pickup is Sat., Oct. 12, at 8 AM and our meeting is the same day at noon at the Luraville Country Store.
